Actor Biography

Mariel Molino stars as Elena Santos, a bright, savvy young woman hired as the live-in nanny to a wealthy widower and his young son on Freeform's "The Watchful Eye." When Elena moves into The Greybourne, a landmark Manhattan apartment building, she quickly learns about the complex politics among its wealthy inhabitants and a history riddled with mystery and tragedy. Luckily, Elena is more than equipped to handle anything that comes her way on her own terms.

Mexican American actress Mariel Molino has been acting from a young age and continues to make her mark in both English- and Spanish-language projects.

Molino recently starred in ABC's family drama series "Promised Land" as Camila Sandoval, the youngest daughter of the Sandoval family, whose flirtatious, party-girl attitude masks a deeply flawed young woman who craves the achievements of her other siblings. The generation-spanning drama, which focuses on two Latinx families vying for wealth and power in California's Sonoma Valley, also starred John Ortiz, Cecilia Suárez, Christina Ochoa and Bellamy Young.

Molino started her career acting in Spanish-language projects, including the critically acclaimed telenovela "Papis muy padres," Amazon's comedy series "El juego de las llaves" and thriller-drama series "La Negociadora." She has also appeared on Netflix's "Narcos: Mexico" and "Luis Miguel: The Series."

On the film side, Molino most recently starred in Amazon's first original movie in Spanish, "Locas por el Cambio" ("Crazy for Change"). In this 2020 body-swap comedy, Molino starred as Paula, a wealthy and entitled girl who switches bodies with Paulina, an overworked mother who feels overwhelmed with her responsibilities in life. In 2015, she also starred in the independent film "Quarter Life Coach."

Molino grew up in San Diego in a Spanish-speaking home and later attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Molino currently splits time between Los Angeles and Mexico City.
