Formatta Introduces Native Integration with EMC
ApplicationXtender and Directory Service Support
Segment-leading Formatta E-Forms Manager
Strengthened by New Enterprise Integration Capabilities
Herndon, VA - August 7, 2006 -
Continuing to revolutionize e-forms
technology, Formatta Corporation today announced the availability of
enhanced integration capabilities with its Formatta E-Forms Manager
solution for publishing, processing and securely managing XML-based
e-forms. Highlighted by real-time, native integration with the EMC
ApplicationXtender enterprise content management platform, Formatta
continues to lead the e-forms market in innovation and
affordability. Additionally, the company announced the availability
of automated LDAP and Active Directory integration to ease the
implementation of e-signature applications.
“Independent market
analysts estimate that information collection alone costs over $300
billion annually,” stated Joe Lyons, product development director,
Formatta Corporation. “The combination of Formatta E-Forms Manager and
EMC ApplicationXtender represents a best-of-breed solution for rapidly
developing and deploying a secure, paperless system for capturing and
integrating information with enterprise applications and processes.”
By routing an e-form,
index data, a form image and workflow properties to ApplicationXtender
during form processing, Formatta e-forms can now work in concert with
ApplicationXtender’s proven archival and workflow features to deliver
advanced content management capabilities to a broader market.
“We are really excited
to be a part of EMC’s vision for storing, managing, protecting and
sharing information, but before you can do any of that, you have to
capture the information,” said Ed Mackin, Jr. of Mackin Imaging, a
distributor for EMC and Formatta products. “The close integration of
Formatta e-forms technology with EMC ApplicationXtender provides
organizations a very powerful solution for extending applications and
processes that capture information directly from users through e-forms.”
Newly available LDAP
and Active Directory support connects Formatta’s patent pending Remote
Signing technology with an organization’s existing user name and
password security infrastructure, eliminating the need for individual
end-user digital certificates for signing e-forms. This architecture
enables cost-effective, rapid deployment of solutions that require user
authentication or electronic signatures. Using existing usernames and
passwords for authentication, Remote Signing powers the creation of
legally binding, digitally signed e-forms by utilizing a single digital
certificate on a server.
“Formatta’s Remote
Signing technology made it very easy for us to deploy an e-signature
solution to support our Katrina-related disaster assistance,” commented
Carlton Whitmore, Systems Analyst, Advocacy, Inc. “The ability to
leverage our existing Active Directory implementation, along with a
single digital certificate for signing, enables us to serve our
constituents in a secure, efficient manner.”
